Faith Testimonial – Monica Allen
Told by: Kaye Hunt, SGA Connections’ Greeter

I visited with Monica and Rodney on July 23, 2018 in their new home to present them with a Newcomer Welcome packet from South Georgia Connections. Monica was warm and gracious right from the start. She invited me inside and introduced me to her husband and her daughter. As I shared the packet, our hearts began to come together when I reached the church portion. Monica began to tell me about her experience with God and how she starts ministry wherever the Spirit leads as business calls them into a new town. She shared with me about how God worked a miracle in her life from many years of abuse to instant healing from drugs and alcohol. I told her that I would like to be a part of this mission of sharing the good news in Valdosta. We prayed right then that God would lead us to find a place to hold Bible study. I thought of The Ashley House downtown, as I had been a part of church ministry there in the past. We went downtown and checked it out and prayed over the facility and asked God to be our guide as we started the ministry, New Territory Outreach. We began to go there every Wednesday at noon and share with the residents through Galatians in the Bible along with praise music, food and fellowship. Sister Monica leads the study with the residents and openly shares her testimony a little each week. They listen to her because it is the true hope of a changed life that people genuinely want in their own life. During Thanksgiving, through donations from many wonderful people and businesses, we were able to offer the residents a turkey and fixings for a blessed Thanksgiving meal. We are also having monthly birthday celebrations to recognize their special day on earth. This ministry is all about sharing the Light of Jesus to a dark and dying world and helping others to come into the light because we know that Jesus is the Way, The Truth and The Light.
